Audiology Appointment # 1

Today was the first audiology appointment for Bryson. We did not realize this would be a long process. With a three year old, it is pretty normal. Today, the audiologist just checked his ear drums and then Bryson was seen by the Dr. who cleaned his ears out and answered questions. It took three of us to hold him down for the Dr. to clean out his ears.  I am so thankful Bryant was there with me! The Dr. scratched his ear just a little to where it was bleeding a little and so he will have to be on some ear drops for another couple weeks before his next appointment. His next appointment will be on February 1st with the same audiologist.

For now, we have to work with him using a pair of ear phones and hearing different sounds so he will not be so discouraged during the next appointment. With toddlers, they use blocks to stack, or placing blocks in a bucket when they hear different noises. We can even try to work with him on raising his hand when he hears something. So, we have a little longer to wait before we find out! For now, we will just be gearing him up for his next appointment! :o)
