We have been dealing many changes in Bryson's behavior in the past six months. We have already noticed that he has been behind in his speech for a while. Bryson also has been showing signs of a hearing loss. When we say something to him, he repeats a different word which rhymes with what we said. As you know, I have a hearing loss so this concerns me. The hearing screening was normal when he was born after the second screening. After telling her about my hearing loss, she recommended he be tested again.
Now that he is in preschool, we have been dealing with abnormal behavior for his age. I spoke to his teacher and even commented on maybe him going to be evaluated. She highly suggested it. I put it off thinking it is his age and him still adjusting to his twin sisters and he will get through it. He had one of his worse days the other day. So, we have decided to move forward. We took him to the pediatrician today. After spending a long time answering questions, the Dr. referred Bryson to the Ear Nose and Throat doctor as well as a Developmental Dr. We have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow at 2:30 with the ENT! We are so very anxious. His behavior could be related to a hearing loss. It could be related to being behind in his speech. We don't know. We just know we need to find out if there is anything going on and better sooner than later.
On a little bit of a different note, I want to share Bryson's experience in the doctor's office. He cracked me and the doctor up with his cute silly self! When the nurse came and left the room, Bryson said, "Come back doctor!". I told him that was not the doctor. Then when the doctor came in, he asked, "doctor, band aid?". He kept on trying to get the doctor's attention as he was entering information in the computer. It was so cute him calling him Doctor and trying to get his attention. After the Doctor checked his ears, he said, "Thank you Doctor!". Then he asked him to check his eyes! We have such a precious little boy!
Now that you know the scoop, please pray for a normal screening!
I will keep Bryson in my prayers and hopefully it is nothing serious.
