OT Evaluation

I took Bryson to see an Occupational Therapist today. After filling out many questions and the therapist examining Bryson, he does need some Occupational Therapy. Bryson is having some sensory issues as well as some fine motor skill delays. I was shocked when I asked her if this has anything to do with him adjusting to his sisters, and maybe regressing in his development, and she said it has nothing to do with that at all. He will be getting some therapy from her starting soon.

The next step is to get him evaluated by the Speech Therapist, he has a Neurology appointment, and then he will see a Pediatric Psychologist. We feel more comfortable now that we are finding out a little more about what is going on and glad we are moving in the right direction.

Twins' Birthday Party Part II

I am getting a lot of practice out of editing all these photos. I believe this is my new hobby! Here are some more pictures from the girls' 1st birthday party...

Bryson's Evaluation

Today was the day of Bryson's first evaluation. We thought he was going to get a full evaluation today. Evidently, it was kind of like a "pre-evaluation" where they decide if we need to move forward.  They tested his root skills such as numbers, colors, shapes, speech and motor skills. Unfortunately, we did not get to the end because he became so frustrated. From their perspective, Bryson has a hard time processing things, gets frustrated very easily, especially with communication. Bryson is being referred for a full evaluation with the preschool program and in the meantime, because we want to get the ball rolling and get the help he needs now, we have him scheduled for an appointment at his pediatrician's office to see if they will refer him to a Neurologist, TEACCH and a Pediatric Psychologist.

We are really not that concerned about this because we know the help is there. We always remember that it could be worse. This is just something little, something fixable, which we want to get to the bottom line and find out what really is going on so we can get him the help he needs, especially before kindergarten! We are slowly making progress!

Loving This Weather

We have been outside a lot with the kids just loving this weather. The weather has been just perfect for running around, playing and taking pictures.

Some of these pictures I edited and some a dear friend of mine edited. You can tell the ones she edited (she has a lot more experience in this!) from the ones I edited!

The Greatest Show on Earth

We took Bryson to the Circus Thursday evening.  Before his nap, we told him we were going to take him to the circus and asked if he wanted to see elephants and tigers. He added, "and dinosaurs"? No Bryson, no dinosaurs!

He was very excited on the way there not knowing what this was all about. It was great to get him out and spend some time with him away from the girls making him feel special! He loved it!

Daddy emptied the last 10 bucks in his pocket to buy him a bag of cotton candy. He shared some with me, but mostly consumed all of it himself. The sugar buzz hit him on the way home. We listened to him giggle the whole way home!
